Deepsies

Reviving this, hopefully long term. I found that Twitter doesn't let me say a while lot in 140 characters and double, even triple posting won't do me any favours with my followers. So a whole lot has changed since my last entry...two years ago nearly. That is quite depressing. I started uni last year and I've become a cynical, sometimes depressing person. I very much regret to say. Yes I have opinions, yes they can be negative, but when there isn't much positive things going on you find that your mind wanders off that way and sets up camp there for a while. My goal is to pack up the camp and switch to a more positive one, but who honestly can say they enjoy listening to someone being all happy and bubbly ALL the time? I guess I'm someone that can't force it if I'm not feeling it. It feels so contrived. I just want to be honest and modest and myself. But yes I admit I want to bring back the happiness of 2008-2010 but that was when I had college and really enjoyed everything about life and now I am stuck in a horrible city, with some nice people (not like my friends at home though) miles away from home.

I know I shouldn't bad mouth but it is 180 degrees different to what I had at home and I really don't like it. So now summer is over and I'm going back to all that, luckily I get a four day weekend so I am making the most of that and coming home a lot. That should keep me happy for now. I would transfer uni's but it is really too much hassle (my boyfriend went through it all and loathed the process probably even more than being at my uni)

I don't want to complain anymore in this journal now. There is enough to sufficiently depress. So some good stuff:
-Got a very cute cat called Milo
-Potentially MIGHT be working on Downton Abbey season 4 next year
-Downton Abbey tribute video I edited was broadcast on American TV last week
-Worked on a feature film with the Co-Op British Youth Film Academy for some of the summer
-Got a lovely new 35mm lens + new Nikon D5100 for my Birthday
-Went to Rome for a week with my boyfriend
-Went to Center Parcs for a week with my family and boyfriend
-Got back into video games
-Still doing paid website work
-Potentially working on a feature film in Cardiff next year (paid) and using Red Epic cameras!
-Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) saw my film showreel and said it was great and that I have lots of good work under my belt

So not bad. Just some other crap that's been going on (and uni) that has really been dragging me down but I don't really want to vent on here, it's quite personal. Ooooo vague! Mysterious!
I will say however that I am looking forward to moving into my new uni house with new uni people who I haven't met before and going partying. And obviously making films, as long as I'm with motivated people.

And it worked. Hi there, I know journal's are a pain, reading about my life is hardly a riveting passtime, but to those who push that statement aside, I love you. Like, really do. So here goes, formatted in an easy to understand, time-saving fashion:

-I hope I can remember how to add icons, it's been a while.. gifted me with a premium subscription! Thank you thank you thank you!
-I've been accepted onto It's My Shout training scheme for students aspiring to work in the film industry. Partnered with BBC Wales, Sony, Film Agency Wales and Skillset to name a few.
-Hopefully *fingers crossed* I'll be visiting the set of Downton Abbey next year, seriously if this happens then life = complete!
-Been talking with Hugh Bonneville, how awesome is that! He is so friendly and witty! Hugh and Dan Stevens saw my tribute video on YouTube and thought it was great! So happy and grateful about that! Downton Abbey Tribute Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8h8A_Y…
-I'm going back to South Africa (skill sharing college trip) in February next year for two weeks, very excited! Sun here I come!

- is home! Very happy! We've been watching Downton Abbey, Spaced, Friends, Ugly Betty, The Breakfast Club, Anchorman, Any Human Heart, Close Up: Martin Scorsese and more which I can't remember now!
-Finally level 60 on Modern Warfare 2, been playing with my buddy Ryan! (well this happened a couple of months ago, but it's still news..ish)
-I got a haircut, a shorter style now which I think is my best haircut yet. Everyone else seems to like it anyway! It goes really horrible and wavy when I don't straighten it though!
-I'm beginning to feel sad about it being my last year of college again. (Feeling sad again, not it being my last year again...ugh nevermind.)
-Hopefully I'll hurry up and finish this back log of Christmas cards which is weighing me down!
-Oh I got a Scorpion lollipop for Christmas

I swear if everything goes to plan, 2011 will be the best year of my life!! (apart from the year I was born of course)

A quick journal to say good grief, it's been over a year since I've updated this thing! Ok so what's happened in a year...briefly..

-Achieved Distinction * overall on my Media course at college.
-Went to South Africa with a group of students from my college to share skills. (I did a Digital Storytelling workshop and taught elements of photography)
-Went to Vienna as a student representative.
-Still working towards 2nd Dan at Ju-Jitsu. My partners left while I was away, so very slow progress! -.-
-So far achieved Distinctions in four units on my media course at college.

and this summer:
-Watched Inception and Toy Story 3 - twice each! AMAZING! *_*
-Missing my college friends, feel quite alone right now.
-Amberdust is home - so very happy!
-Getting a new camera soon. Looking at getting the Nikon D5000!
-Been playing Modern Warfare 2 alot, not now though, but got to level 40 or something. ^^
-Started learning guitar, cause I'm bored. XD My dad is an awesome guitarist, so learning a few things from him.
-Commissioned to make a website and a logo for two different people. Yay

I'm back again after a long time...why does this always happen?? Ok I have an excuse...a good one this time. I have been working my bottom off at college (First Diploma Media *thumbs up*), was a finalist at the Young Northern Design Competition (in Leeds), had to prepare a presentation to my new classmates on the taster day AND give them a tour, got into two local newspapers with my sister for our achievements (Gem came 2ND in UK Worldskills Web Design, I was a finalist at that competition mentioned before), prepping fund raising for my trip to South Africa next year and I have been editing a 2 hour long performance of songs of praise at college over summer break! O_O I've just been so busy with much more on top of that (friends, cinema, Ju-Jitsu etc.). I need to stop giving myself so much to do...

And I saw Harry Potter last night from 10:30pm to 1:00am, got to bed at 2:00am! Not the usual for me! I got up at 11 this morning. We went through two cinemas to watch it because it was sold out. Then we had to wait 2 hours at Costa coffee until our late night showing. It was good, I kept getting it mixed up with the 7th though and was anticipating a massive battle between Death Eaters and the teachers at Hogwarts. I really liked the character interactions and love in the air. I felt that Ginny's acting was unconvincing though. However I LOVE Hermione x Ron!!!!!!!! *fangirl* The next movie is going to be EPIC!

Been watching the first season of Heroes, I love it! Sylar, what a menace! Claire + Zach + Claire's mum and dad + Mr. Muggles are my favourite characters. Just two DVDs left to go!

I'm hoping to complete 5 art pieces over this summer break, not sure how well that will go! Also my braces are finally OFF! 1 year and 3 months of unbearable torture finally OVER!!!!! Oh gosh I hate braces with a passion. I have to get my retainer next week though.

Gah I don't like being at home, I want to be at college being productive and helping classmates and tutors. I think that's why I took on this extra project because I just love being at college (the tutors are awesome!) and being independent. I'm going to miss my sister sooo much though, she's leaving for uni this September.

Anyway I better go have a shower, see ya.
